　　本作为鲁邦三世OVA作品第三弹，发表于2008年。剧中采用了颠覆鲁邦传统设定的世界观，因而显得与其他所有鲁邦作品大为不同。作为鲁邦系列漫画创作40周年的纪念作品，本作面对的观众群更加偏向那些多年支持鲁邦并且看过大部分鲁邦剧集的观众，而不是鲁邦新粉丝。
